Child, Youth and Family is the government agency that has legal powers to intervene to protect and help children facing abuse, neglect or who have problem behaviour. We work with young offenders under the youth justice system and provide residential and care services for children in need of care and protection. Our adoption services assess people who wish to adopt children and report to the Family Court on applications. We also facilitate the exchange of information for parties to past adoptions. Our contracting group funds community organisations working with children, young people and their families to support them protecting and helping children.
