Summer is not over! As the warm weather just keeps rolling on, we here in Takapuna are making use of the hot days, seaside buzz and excellent establishments to enjoy that long summer we all deserve.
Come join us! Here are some ideas for making the most of March and April in Auckland for seaside activities, creative outlets and awesome sunshine walks.
North Shore beachside delights

This time of year in Takapuna means fish and chips from Takapuna Fish Shop and a sunset walk on the beach followed by refreshments at Regatta Bar & Eatery.
How about a coffee from Takapuna Beach Café while you contemplate the view of Rangitoto Island?
We suggest beginning your day watching the sunrise, swimming in the ocean and taking yourself to a yoga class at Flourish Yoga.
Or get a running start by elevating your heart rate at a local fitness class.

Catch a spark and get creative
Find a quiet spot on the beach and let Takapuna’s landscape inspire you.
Are you artistic, or interested in giving it a try? How about sketching what you see, or painting with watercolours? Take yourself on a lunch date and write something inspired by our surroundings. Try writing a poem or short story.
Take your camera on a walk and find something that speaks to you. We’ve got no shortage of beautiful natural and urban landscapes to photograph, as well as street art, birdlife, and of course your own whānau and friends having fun in the sun!

And remember, if you snap a top-class pic, be sure to enter it in our Extend Your Summer Photo Competition.
Want some inspiration to get that creativity flowing? Sign up for an art class at Lake House Arts, or take a look at what top Kiwi artists’ works at Art By The Sea gallery.
Stretch those legs on local walks
Make the most of our evenings and beautiful weekends to explore on foot before the days get short.
Put yourself in the path of adventure at Lake Pupuke. The lakeshore has a great stroll, where you can feed the friendly ducks and geese. While you’re there, get on board with water activities like paddleboarding with Girls Get Out There or windsurfing with Madloop.

Keen for something unique? The lava trail forms part of Te Araroa, between Takapuna and Milford. While walking the 1.5-hour return track, you can discover marine life in the tidal rock pools, or look for fossils of ancient trees preserved by lava flows during a volcanic eruption 100,000 years ago. All with the typical stunning North Shore sea views!
